Re: Reinvention
for all intents and purposes, this is an artist's newsletter ⊹ ࣪ ˖ ⟡₊ ⊹
🪄🐇 It’s not a disappearing act! A short update…
I’m in a fog of metamorphosis and becoming, passing through a purgatory of my early twenties, girlwoman, embryonic and squirmy. This is also a coming of age as artist into designer, child into adult. I’m learning how to take agency over my life, which is exciting, but then my earthly duties (i.e. being a university student) beckon for my attention again, and I’m drawn away from my Substack editing page. But here I am!
Unfortunately, I’m here to retract some promises I made over Winter Break when I forgot that I don’t have all the time in the world to work on my Substack (:/). Firstly, I want to keep Substack fun and having more deadlines than necessary stresses. me. out. so I will be scaling back a bit. The “Camicore Weekly Roundup” will now be “Things to Consider,” which I will post periodically, not every week. However, the world of Camicore simply cannot be contained– I’m on tumblr! I spent a lot of time on tumblr as a kid, but somehow never got around to making my own page. Now, I’m healing my inner-child by becoming chronically online. “Things to Consider,” my tumblr blog, and my art criticism is about sharing art that stirs something within me and developing a “delicacy of taste.” This is important in the life of any aesthete or artist.
In such a short time, this Substack has seen me through many phases, yet all of these phases are a part of the same chapter of my life. Cusp of Cami was first a place to yap about art and astrology, occasionally share poetry, art that I like, and now….for all intents and purposes, this is an artist’s newsletter. At minimum, I will post once a month about the happenings in my creative life, which might include my creative writing, visual art, random sources of inspiration, notes on style. I would like to post more on art criticism, creative direction, style, and aesthetics as well when my schedule permits.
Also, I’ve been long wanting to try my hand at yet another platform: YouTube. We shall see how that goes. I’m trying to strike a blance between the visual and mental, the expressive and analytic. Keep your eyes peeled for more art criticism on Thee Beat Aesthete. My focus is shifting a bit, but here I seek to prioritize my sacred creative life, every manifestation of it.
Thanks for tuning in. I’m curious to know your current inspirations in the comments :) Stay magical.
